Key roles and responsibilities:
As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in helping patients recover from injury or illness and adapt to physical or cognitive challenges. You will assess, plan, and implement treatments designed to restore function and promote independence. In addition, you will:
Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized treatment plans tailored to patient needs and goals
Provide therapeutic interventions using appropriate occupational therapy modalities and techniques
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care
Educate patients and families on treatment plans, progress, adaptive equipment, and home programs.
Recommend modifications to the patient’s environment and daily activities to support rehabilitation and independence
Supervise therapy assistants and aides, ensuring safe and effective care delivery while maintaining accurate documentation and contributing to performance improvement initiatives
What you will need to qualify:
Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy
Current New York State Occupational Therapy License
Current BLS certification
Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in occupational therapy
Proficient in basic computer skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
