Education & Training: Graduate of an accredited diagnostic ultrasound or cardiovascular ultrasound program. RDCS/RCS or RVT/RVS registry required. BLS required.

Work Orientation & Experience: One year of cardiac or vascular experience preferred. Dual cardiac and vascular experience is highly preferred.

Skills & Abilities: Visual and hearing abilities sufficient for observing and interpreting technical information provided by a variety of equipment displays graphic and written sources. Ability to: a) steadily perform cardiac/vascular ultrasound procedures in the presence of acutely ill patients, highly anxious family members, multiple physician requests and changing supervisory requirements necessary to serve the patient population; b) convey effective verbal and written information; c) respond to emergency situations appropriately; d) relate positively with and reassure patients; e) maintain discretion with patients; f) organize and manage time effectively setting appropriate priorities; g) make independent decisions consistent with current policies and procedures; h) communicate effectively projecting a positive image of the organization in support of Service Excellence expectations; i) adapt hours of availability to variable and changing needs of the patient care setting; and j) effectively function as a member of a collaborative team.
