Working as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at Penn State Health, you are the heart and backbone of patient care. Under the general supervision of the Mohs surgeon, this position would require a motivated individual to be responsible for performing all duties related to assistance during skin cancer surgery. Mohs is performed in an outpatient setting under local anesthesia, so excellent interpersonal skills are essential. Applicants should be motivated, detail-oriented, able to work in a face-paced environment, willing to learn and grow with the practice. 

General medical assisting duties such as rooming patients, obtaining vitals, obtaining pre-operative and intra-operative photographs, prepping and draping patients during procedures. 

Assisting physician with in-office skin cancer surgery/procedures including indirect cauterization, retraction, cutting suture, and bandaging. 

ABOUT PENN STATE HEALTH MEDICAL GROUP DERMATOLOGY

Location: 200 Campus Drive, Entrance 3, Suite 100, Hershey PA 

Hours of Operation: 8:00am-4:00pm Monday-Friday 

Working Schedule: Some Thursday Evening Clinics 5pm-8pm Monday-Friday 7:30am-4:00pm; 8:00am-4:30pm; 8:30am-5:00pm; 9:00am-5:30pm; occasional 12:00pm-8:00pm on Thursday's to cover evening shift. Staff are scheduled to do varied shifts, and they can switch shifts with other staff members as needed (communicate with supervisor to make change).

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

High School diploma required 

Graduate of an approved school of nursing with current license to practice in the state of PA or eligible for licensure in PA required 

BLS required 

1 year experience in an acute or ambulatory care setting preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*: 

Able to stand & sit constantly; walk frequently 

Able to lift/carry 0-10 lbs. frequently; 11-50 lbs. occasionally 

Able to push/pull 0-20 lbs. frequently; 21-75 lbs. occasionally 

Able to climb occasionally; reach constantly 

Able to use hands for simple/firm grasping
