Clinical Assistant Program for Nursing Students - Summer 2021

Take a significant step toward a successful career in nursing! As a Clinical Assistant at Memorial Sloan Kettering, you will join a highly professional healthcare team dedicated to providing excellent patient care.

This exciting 10-week program begins on Tuesday, June 1, 2021 and offers:

Oncology clinical and classroom orientation program
Assignments to Med/Surg Inpatient Units, Critical Care, Ambulatory Care, Perioperative Units or the Operating Room
Collaboration with our Magnet-recognized nursing staff
Full-time schedules; 10 & 12 hour day shifts, with weekend rotation as needed
Clinical Observation Days (optional)

This program requires:

Current enrollment in an accredited BS or BA Nursing Program
Completion of two (2) clinical semesters, including one semester in Med/Surg Nursing
An interest in working with cancer patients
Availability to work varied day shifts, including some weekends
Active BCLS Certification
A GPA of 3.0 or higher is required

Our Hiring Process for the 2021 Clinical Assistant Program (CAP):

Step 1: Interested students must complete the job application and submit cover letter by January 29, 2021.

Step 2: The Talent Acquisition team will review applications and contact students who meet the qualifications for a video interview.

Step 3: Selected students will be invited to interview February - April 2021.

Step 4: Students will be informed of selection decisions by the end of April

Step 5: Selected students must complete onboarding tasks (including medical clearance and employment verification) by May 14, 2021 to ensure they are cleared to start on June 1, 2021.

Step 6: If offered, the student will be requested to submit an official transcript or a letter from their school verifying their enrollment and provide at least 5 references including two recommendations from your professors and/or clinical instructors.
