Overview

The registered nurse serves as a clinical resource, supervisor and educator for volunteer staff serving patients in a community-based setting. Is responsible for coordination and management of medication, equipment, supplies and personnel to ensure provision of safe, efficient and effective patient care following established standards and protocols. Is sensitive to unique needs of patients based on age, gender and cultural preferences/background. Works in collaboration with Site Coordinator with direction from MINI Director or Clinical Volunteer Coordinator.

Responsibilities/Job Description
  • Supervises all aspects of community clinic operation in collaboration with Site Coordinator. Oversees interdisciplinary team consisting of clinical and non-clinical volunteers.
  • Acts as clincial expert resource and educator. Creates a culture that supports safe and effective care. Utilizes resources to maximize efficiency.
  • Communicates with diverse clinical and non-clinical constituencies.
  • Demonstrates ability to provide care or service adjusting approaches to reflect developmental level and cultural differences of population served.
  • Works as an integral team member with Community Health Operations team and volunteer teams, documents problems, resolutions and escalates issues to appropriate individuals. Works closely with Operational team to ensure timely coordination and follow up of specific issues and needs
  • Demonstrates leadership abilities and use of process improvement to accomplish assigned work
Qualifications

Education: Minimum Education

  • Licensed RN with Associates degree

Preferred Education

  • Licensed RN with four year Baccalaureate degree

Minimum License/Certification/Registration
  • RN licensure in state of MN
  • BLS Certified

Experience: Minimum Experience

  • 2 years healthcare experience

Preferred Experience

  • Prefer 2 or more years of leadership or supervisory experience

Additional Requirements: Previous ambulatory experience preferred. Willingness to work at various sites. Demonstrated focus on customer/patient service. Excellent public relations and communication skills. Ability to work as an effective team leader to provide exceptional care. Ability to work independently, demonstrate critical thinking skills and engage in ongoing process improvement and issues resolution.
