Spectrum Health Medical Group of Spectrum Health in Grand Rapids, Michigan has retained Cejka Search to conduct a national search for an accomplished and influential physician leader to serve as the Vice President, Department Chief of Orthopedics.

Reporting to the Spectrum Health Delivery System Chief Medical Officer, the Vice President, Department Chief, Orthopedics will lead, expand and elevate the Orthopedic service line across all Spectrum Health facilities. Serving in a dyad partnership with the Vice President, Orthopedic Operations, this physician leader will focus on strategy, vision, and clinical operations to position the Orthopedic Service Line as a regional and national leader for excellence of care and service. The Vice President, Department Chief will lead a team of talented physicians and advanced practice providers to identify opportunities for advancing a culture of safety, inclusion, and accountability; improve quality and safety across all areas; foster innovative approaches to patient-centered care and population health; and achieve departmental and system goals. The Vice President, Department Chief will work closely with related service line leaders to assure coordinated planning and support for all services across the care continuum and across the clinical enterprise.

Orthopedic services provided include Hand, Microsurgery and Upper Extremity; Foot, Ankle and Lower Extremity; Arthritis and Other Bone Conditions; Sports Medicine; Orthopedic Oncology; Orthopedic Trauma; Orthopedic Total Joint; and an Orthopedic Urgent Care. The successful candidate will have proven clinical skills and the ability to influence, negotiate and motivate collaborators to build a culture of quality, efficiency and an evidence-based, multidisciplinary care approach to improve clinical and service outcomes. Board certification and the ability to obtain an unrestricted Michigan medical license and a reduced clinical practice is required.
