M Health Fairview has an immediate opening for a Medical Assistant to provide professional, quality care to patients in the ambulatory setting at the SurgeryCliniclocated on St. John's campus in Maplewood, MN. As a member of the care team, the Medical Assistant supports quality patient and family centered care principles through performing a variety of high level functions within a care team to support the needs of the healthcare team and patients/families.

This is a full time, 1.0 FTE (80 hours per two week pay period), benefits-eligible opportunity and the hours for this position will range from 7:30AM to 5PM Monday-Friday.

$3000 New Hire Bonus is offered for this opening!

Responsibilities/Job Description

Medical Assistant duties include but are not limited to:

Rooming patients, obtaining vitals and health histories, document in an electronic medical record, administer injections, and assist with minor procedures
Gather and prepare patient information and documentation in preparation for patient visit
Promote teamwork with all members of the health care team
Maintain complete, timely and accurate clinical documentation for each patient and continually looking for opportunities to improve processes and workflow
Perform front desk duities as needed, including appointment scheduling, prior authorizations, phones

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

Current Medical Assistant (certifiied by the AAMA or AMT or able to obtain within 6 months of hire) or
License Practical Nurse (LPN) through the MN Board of Nursing
Current BLS certification required upon hire

Preferred Qualifications:

Prior experience in a clinic setting
Willingness and ability to work at other locations as determined by business needs
