River Oaks Hospital, located in metropolitan New Orleans, Louisiana, is a private psychiatric facility for adults, adolescents and children. Since 1970, River Oaks has established a tradition of excellence in the treatment of acute psychiatric illness, dual diagnosis, alcohol and drug detoxification, trauma based disorders, compulsive behaviors, and eating disorders, River Oaks has provided quality treatment to service individuals suffering from mental illness, and/or addictive disorders. Situated on a 14 acre campus, services are available at all levels of care (inpatient, day or partial hospitalization, outpatient, and intensive outpatient).
River Oaks Hospital is seeking a dynamic and talented Admissions and Referral/ Intake Counselor.Â Key Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
Provides initial assessment and counseling of walk-in clients/ patients, by phone,Â scheduled admits, reviews E-faxes for placement and completes insurance precertification;
Responds to each person/family in a timely manner with appropriate clinical intervention and judgment, provides immediate information and emotional support according to need and within departmental policy, provides additional evaluation/consultation as deemed necessary (i.e. psychiatric assessment);
Ensures smooth transition of admission process to alleviate anxieties in discussing treatment, financial responsibility, etc.;
Adheres to policies and procedures as needed, utilizingÂ all components required ofÂ admissions and referral services;
Observes confidentiality and safeguards all patient and employee related information.
